REFLECT

REBOUND

RESHAPE

Executed in a glass-like material that only appears fragile, our artwork uses color and refracted light to reshape the surrounding space—able to bend and rebound without breaking.

The Butterfly Art Collective produces sculptures centered on the butterfly as a recurring form.

Whether singular or aggregated, the sculptures establish a lasting presence in private and institutional collections, inviting reflection and uplift.

The butterfly endures as our form because it represents agency without aggression. Its wings appear glasslike—almost fragile—yet they are engineered for persistence: flexible under force, responsive to light, and strong enough to carry a body across distance. We’re drawn to that contradiction.

In a culture that mistakes hardness for strength, the butterfly reminds us that resilience can be elastic, quiet, and luminous—something that bends, adapts, and returns without losing its shape.

The wings of our work are largely transparent by design. Rather than presenting a fixed image, they admit light, allowing color, shadow, and movement to participate in the piece. As conditions change, so does the work. Meaning is not imposed but revealed through interaction.

Each butterfly resolves light differently, without hierarchy or repetition—embodying a form of confidence that does not rely on opacity, and a strength that does not require dominance.

Resilience

Our inaugural campaign centers on 25 pairs of sculptural butterflies made in soft resin with wingspans up to five feet. Each pair honors a community forever changed by one of the 25 deadliest mass shootings in the United States.

Collector’s Edition 1

Each butterfly in the Resilience campaign represents a story of transformation, remembrance, and hope. The Newtown, CT shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, when a gunman took the lives of 26 individuals, including 20 young children, at Sandy Hook Elementary School. It remains the deadliest mass shooting in Connecticut history and the deadliest at an elementary school in U.S. history.

This handcrafted miniature honors the Sandy Hook community with the same care and symbolism as its larger counterpart. The butterfly reflects the innocence and vibrancy of the lives lost through its playful details. Colorful fingerprints line the wings, symbolizing each child’s unique identity and standing as a direct rebuttal to the conspiracy theories that denied their very existence. Magnetic letters, paper clips, star stickers, and teddy bears evoke the classroom and the creative spirit of young minds. The teddy bears also recall the thousands sent to Newtown as a powerful symbol of collective grief and compassion. Each piece serves as a quiet tribute to lives lost and a reminder of what we continue to hope for.

This is Collector’s Edition 1 in a series of limited miniatures created by the Butterfly Art Collective. Within this edition are 12 individually crafted pieces, each one-of-a-kind in shape and detail. While united by a common design inspiration, no two are exactly alike—ensuring that every collector receives a singular work from this debut release. Each piece includes a numbered and stamped certificate of authenticity from the Butterfly Art Collective.

Artist Proof

Each butterfly in the Resilience campaign represents a story of transformation, remembrance, and hope. The Thousand Oaks, CA shooting occurred on November 7, 2018, at the Borderline Bar & Grill during a college night event, where a gunman opened fire on young patrons, many of them students. Just one day later, the Woolsey Fire swept through the region, burning nearly 100,000 acres and compounding the community’s grief with another devastating blow.

This handcrafted miniature honors the Thousand Oaks community with the same care and symbolism as its larger counterpart. Inspired by the city’s namesake oak trees — known for their deep roots, strength, and longevity — the butterfly reflects resilience, endurance, and community in the face of atrocity. Each piece serves as a quiet tribute to lives lost and a reminder of what we continue to hope for.

This small batch of artist proofs was handcrafted in our studio as part of the process of refining and perfecting the full-scale butterfly sculptures. Each piece captures the spirit of the final design while offering a rare glimpse into the artistry, experimentation, and care behind our work. A testament to beauty born from resilience, no two are exactly alike.

A Flower’s Strength – Columbine High School Mini Butterfly
$250.00

Collector’s Edition 1

Each butterfly in the Resilience campaign represents a story of transformation, remembrance, and hope. The Littleton, CO shooting occurred on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School, where two students opened fire on classmates and teachers. This atrocity, one of the most infamous school shootings in U.S. history, forever changed the national dialogue around school safety, gun control, and the psychological factors behind such attacks.

This handcrafted miniature honors the Columbine community with the same care and symbolism as its larger counterpart. The butterfly seeks to reclaim and restore the original meaning of the word “Columbine,” which has become synonymous with school shootings. Its wings portray a peaceful grassy field filled with delicate columbine flowers — symbols of natural beauty, growth, and life, and a reminder of what the name once represented. Each piece serves as a quiet tribute to lives lost and a reminder of what we continue to hope for.

This is Collector’s Edition 1 in a series of limited miniatures created by the Butterfly Art Collective. Each butterfly in the Resilience campaign represents a story of transformation, remembrance, and hope. The Uvalde, TX shooting occurred on May 24, 2022, at Robb Elementary School, where a gunman opened fire, killing 21 people, including 19 children and 2 teachers. The atrocity devastated this predominantly Hispanic community near the U.S.–Mexico border and became one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history.

This handcrafted miniature honors the Uvalde community with the same care and symbolism as its larger counterpart. Inspired by the memorial mosaic wall created to remember the victims, the butterfly features a mosaic tile pattern — each piece representing the children, teachers, and community members forever linked by this atrocity. Carefully arranged, the tiles reflect how the community, though shattered, has come together in solidarity and strength. Each piece serves as a quiet tribute to lives lost and a reminder of what we continue to hope for.
